Wide Open spaces at Tampa Waterfront Park

Most great cities have huge open communal multi purpose spaces. Tampa aspires to create such a space with Waterfront Park. This is part of a more ambitious Downtown revitalization project: Riverwalk.

Construction is ongoing. I was blown away by the wide open grassy area that people just sort of graze on a lazy Sunday. The Tampa Museum of Art anchors Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, with an interactive children playground and a dog walk.

The wide inviting space offers a gathering spot for people to congregate. There doesn’t need to be an actual reason to go here, but once you are there this could be the jump of point for other fun things. Wish my city had this.
