Summer Ceviche at Cocina 214 for National Ceviche Day

Cocina 214, the Tex-Mex restaurant in Winter Park, will serve a Summer Ceviche in honor of National Ceviche Day Jun 28.



Here is a complete recipe for the Summer Ceviche:

Fresh Tilapia

Fresh lime juice

Purple onion



Grape tomatoes




Salt to taste

Cocina 214 Business Manager and Partner, Lambrine Macejewski, says they stick to tilapia because it is a fish that most people enjoy. It is available to year round which keeps the ceviche dishes consistent. She suggests for someone making this dish at home to try any of their favorite fresh fish (white fish is preferred), but to make sure it is a fish with good meat consistency. Using fish that is too fragile can become rubbery or even dissolve while marinating. Macejewski says mango and pineapple add sweet flavors to more traditional  ceviche dishes without overpowering them. These ingredients complement the citrus flavored lime juice and add a refreshing twist, perfect for summer. The restaurant makes their ceviche in batches regularly.

The Summer Ceviche will only be featured during business hours (11 am- 10 pm) this Saturday, June 28.
