Most of the time I spotted this food truck was at The Daily City Food Truck Bazaars around town. When I go to these food truck bazaars, I want to eat everything. So I stay away from the large portions I saw coming out of the Mama Fixins. This was a perfect opportunity.
Southern Fried Chicken, Mashed Potato, Mac and Cheese – crisp, succulent, and tender chicken bursting with flavors. Creamy mashed potatoes and very nice mac and cheese. Huge portion!
Southern Fried Fish, Beans, and Collard Greens – Tender, flaky, crispy swai fish fillets were a true southern charmer. The swai fish has a nice clean flavor profile. Beans were sweet and intense, collards greens were tender.
I also tried the Sweet Iced Tea and Pink lemonade, both of which were flavored nicely. This food truck has certainly cornered the essence of southern soul food. The portions are huge for a great value. Service is of genuine southern hospitality. Great team. Great food!
